Taxonomic Features
Leaf triangular, obtuse, base truncate. Petiole longer than lamina. Stipules free, dentate. Flower zygomorphic, 5-15mm long, purplish-lilac. Sepals lanceolate, acute, entire. Fruit a capsule, oblong and glabrous.

Medicinal Value
It is useful in fever, cough, headache and sore throat. Locally whole plant decoction is used for treatment of jaundice, flu, headache and stomach disorders. Powder of flower mixed with white lump sugar is an excellent remedy for chronic constipation.
