An annual tender herb up to 25 cm, found in sub-tropical zone, with very short flowering season.
Taxonomic Features
Leaf simple, linear-lanceolate. Underground stem is corm, ovoid-oblong, flattened at base, having longitudinal groove on both sides, covered by dark brown membrane. Flower yellow, actinomorphic, bell-shaped, 3-4 cm across.Tepalslanceolate to oblanceolate, 2-3cm long. Fruit a capsule, 2-3cm long, ovoid. Seed numerous, globose.
