It is a national  referral facility developed under auspices of US AID through Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) https://www.parc.gov.pk  Agricultural Linkage Program (ALP) https://alp.gov.pk. Early work started in 2000 and enriched in 2014 when funds were provided  under project  titled ‘'Conservation, Documentation and Digitization of Medicinal Flora of Poonch Azad Kashmir,, at Govt. Boys Post Graduate College Abbaspur Poonch AJK. Initially 300 medicinal plants have been documented having medicinal value interpreted in US and British pharmacopeias. This database  covers  plants of angiosperms, Gymnosperms and Pteridophytes belonging to different ecological zones of Poonch Division. Each plant is illustrated with 6- 8 field  images and voucher specimen number for  convenient study. Plants are identified with the help of Flora of Pakistan, Flora of China and Flora of North America and guide lines are gathered from International Plant Name Index (IPNI),Scopus and Catalogue of Vascular Plants of West Pakistan and Kashmir.
